Feed Project  Dell XPS  Autism Speaks

1.  Help feed the youth by purchasing a bag.  One purchase of a bag feeds a child in school for one year.  The burlap bags are reversible buy one from Feed.

2. This colorful laptop by Dell comes in four colors.  I think these are just so trendy and a good way to show off your persona by way of using your laptop.

3.  Toys “R” Us is raising money with Autism Speaks to help families affected by Autism.  So far they have raised $1,158,196.  Autism is more common and easier recognized with today’s technology.  Just a tid bit of info on it:  “1 in 150 individuals are diagnosed with autism making it more common than diabetes, AIDS, and pediatric cancer combined.”

I think the rain has finally left us but it’s still affecting some areas with floods.  I hope you all stay dry and safe!

Week 4 - Texas

sherry-hammonds-hs.jpg

My name is: Sherry Hammonds

Right now I’m sitting at: In my office in front on my mac!  Where I always sit!

My family includes: My husband- Sean. The best kitties in the world- Lucy and Linus!  I also have two awesome brothers and of course mom and dad!

What inspires me is: Fun people with good hearts. Reading a good book. Taking an afternoon and relaxing outdoors.  And- let’s not forget photography.

The photographer who most inspires me would be: It’s not just one or two particular photographers; it’s really anyone who has a vision. Anyone who dares to look at what they’re shooting just a little differently.

When hanging out online you will usually find me at: Well lately, it’s been the C2K!  Other than that, you’ll find me browsing blogs and websites of any amazing photographer I can find.

The first thing I crave in the morning is: Tall-vanilla-nonfat-latte!

Don’t tell anyone that I love: Watching really bad TV late at night when I am beating a deadline!

To me “beautiful” is: Good people, love, seasons (ok- I live in TX so seasons are more like a distant fantasy!).

This year’s purchases MUST include: I just got a bunch of stuff!  D300 and new micro lens- shootsac- new website-massive flash cards!  I am just not sure I can buy anything else!   If I could, it would be a zoom lens with a fixed aperture.

My guilty pleasure is: Ice cream!

If I had $500 to spend on myself today, I would buy: a weekend getaway with my husband.

I think my best feature is: Oh gosh- I don’t know! There is my photo- you tell me!  I’m pretty outgoing- I like that! ok!

I am addicted to: My camera, shopping, coffee!

One personal goal I have this year would be: To expand my business by breaking into the world of commercial photography, book more weddings and overall have a better structure than last year.

Solar Cool Cap  Martin Dingman Belt  Photo Safe by Digital Foci

1.  This is just hiliarious and a smart idea.  The Solar Cool Cap  from Target keeps you cool (probably not as hip as me, but still cool like the wind).  It has a built in fan and solar panels.

2.  For the gentlemen out there.  A belt by Martin Dingman; Douglas, hand painted bridle leather.

3.  The Photo Safe by Digital Foci.  A portable picture storage with a card reader.

Gallery Wraps are no-longer under-”wrap”.  We are in the testing phase and excited to make these available as soon as we can.  This product has been a highly suggested item and we’re happy to be able to add them into our product line.

The C2K Neighborhood has been a huge hit with you all and I’m glad to be a part of it.  It’s nice to see your lovely images and get critiques and advice on how or what to improve upon.  It’s “totally tubular” to be in such a close niche with each other.

As you may have noticed, we just posted the images of us beautiful people in Customer Service along with our handsome duo of Neighborhood leaders!  We hope to see more of your self portraits!   See our faces.

until next time…
stay dry and out of the rain

Time to time I will be searching on the net and come across cool products that I think you all should hear about.  Here are the items I’ve chosen for today:

1.  The ShootSac by Jessica Claire.  It comes in 16+ cover types and you wear it on your shoulder for easy access to your photography equipment.

2.  April showers bring May flowers.  It’s springtime and the rainy season is upon us.  If you’re out and about and want to keep those footsies dry while shooting your awesome shoots grab a few pairs of rainboots at your local Target.

3.  This item is a wish list item.  I won’t be getting it any time soon.  These glasses are around $685.00.  Not sure how long the Big Sunglasses will still be in style but why not?

Hello everyone and welcome to our Blog.  I’d like to take a Blog moment and introduce you to people I talk to 8/5; which is my lingo for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.  First things first, I am Heather Ennis and I have been with Candid 2000 for 2 years and I’m the youngin’ of the group. Batting first, is Stacey McGehee and she has been here for 9 wonderful years.  She is the boss up here in customer service and she gets the job done.  She’s always smiling!  Batting second, we have Tena Barnes and she has been here for 5 blessed years.  I like to call her my go-to-mommy.  She is great to work with and keeps us aligned.  Batting third, we have Tami who has been here for just under a year.  She is our quiet one and loves listening to my randomness too.  I wonder if she agrees?  Our up-and-coming rookies are Debi Davis and Tony Hale. They have been here for over a month now.  They are a great addition to our awesome C2K team.

NOW ONTO BUSINESS at C2K
We have more sizes that you have so graciously asked for.
Our Distressed Brown leather Tuscany Albums are soon to be here.  Can you smell the leather goodness?
What I’m about to type next will have you on the edge or your seats!  We are soon going to be adding more features to the online site!!  Well, that’s all I’m allowed to say on that subject.  Stay tuned…until next time.

Spotlight Photographer of the Week

Week 2 - Maine

Linsey

My name is: Lindsey Fortier

Right now I’m sitting at: My studio in Winthrop, Maine

My family includes: Me and my daughter. I am also very close with the rest of my family(mom and sis etc)

What inspires me is: There are so many things that inspires me, just a few are, the Lord- because with out him, what I do would not be possible. My daughter-she’s just amazing, so I want to capture every second of her life. All my clients-being able to be a small part of their life, and freezing such important memories for them to cherish for a life time, wow that’s pretty inspiring!!  I could go on and on!

The photographer who most inspires me would be: There are sooo many amazing photographers out there. Just a few are Jessica Claire, Audrey Woulard, Jessica Hughes, Lori Nordstrom and there are so many more!!

When hanging out online you will usually find me at: Who has time for that, with a business to run???  But now any free time, will be spent right here at the C2k Forum!!

The first thing I crave in the morning is: A good cup of Coffee

Don’t tell anyone that I love: Coffee

To me “beautiful” is:  that special look your children give you when they have done something that makes them proud. That look on the grooms face when he first see’s his bride. The tear in the father of the brides eye as he walks her down the isle. The birds singing in the morning on a warm spring day.  The first snow fall of the year when every thing is coated in white. The sound of frogs and crickets, and the twinkle of the stars on a warm summer night.  The smile on a moms face as she sees her family’s portraits for the first time. Ok, so I think everything is beautiful!!

This year’s purchases MUST include:  Nothing!! I just bought the D300, nikon 50m 1.4 lens, shootsac, and a new background.  I will spend no more!!

My guilty pleasure is: Sitting by the lake with a coffee, watching my daughter swim!!(when is summer of course!)

If I had $500 to spend on myself today, I would buy: Clothes and shoes of course!!

I think my best feature is: My smile, because the door man at walmart keeps telling me I have a nice smile. Maybe it is because I am always smiling!

I am addicted to: Photography and coffee!

One personal goal I have this year would be: Keeping up with my business side of my studio, I really lack in that area. I need to become more organized. Also when I’m shooting, to never get into a habit of doing the same shots, that will be an always goal. I really feel that it is important and will help keep my work fresh and interesting.
